SigmaResolve

Importing Your Measurement Data

How to upload Excel, CSV, and tab-delimited measurement files with automatic column detection and subgroup mapping.

Supported File Formats

SigmaResolve accepts Excel (.xlsx, .xls), CSV (comma, semicolon, or tab delimited), and TSV files. Maximum file size is 10MB, which handles most CMM and gage data exports. The import wizard auto-detects the delimiter, encoding (UTF-8, Windows-1252), and decimal separator (period or comma for European formats).

Column Mapping

After upload, the column mapper shows a preview of your data. Auto-detection recognizes common header names: 'Measurement', 'Value', 'Dimension', 'Sample', 'Subgroup', 'Date', 'Part Number', 'Characteristic', 'USL', 'LSL', 'Operator'. For non-standard headers, click any column to assign its role. Once mapped, the template is saved for future uploads of the same format.

Multi-Characteristic Import

Upload a single file with multiple measurement columns and create all characteristics at once. A 50-column CMM export creates 50 monitored characteristics in one operation. Each column becomes a characteristic with its own control chart, specification limits, and rule configuration.

Appending New Data

Don't re-upload your entire dataset when you have new measurements. Use append mode to add new data points to existing characteristics. The system uses date/timestamp deduplication to prevent double-counting. Control limits remain locked from your initial study unless you explicitly recalculate.
